Forrester Dancers

Cape Breton

The Forrester Dancers have been under the direction of Eileen Pottie Forrester since 1965. Her talented daughter, Shannon Forrester McMullen has been teaching and directing alongside her mother since 1991. Since the early ‘60s, Eileen and her dancers have represented Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, and Canada during many International festivals in Asia, Europe, Canada and the United States - which included 22 shows at Walt Disney World’s Epcot main stage. The dancers have been privileged to grace the stage with many of our talented local artists and most recently were invited to perform in “Home I'll Be: Remembering Rita”.
Their mandate is to share their Scottish Culture worldwide with their multifaceted musical friends. In 2006 their first CD entitled, “Music of Nova Scotia” features a sampling of the music they have performed in concerts and festivals here and abroad. Their music is available worldwide, through iTunes, or online at www.forresterdancers.com
Representatives of the dance company are thrilled to be invited once again to Celtic Colours showcasing their traditional and specially choreographed Highland, Scottish National, and Celtic Step Dancing. This year the school is celebrating its 49th anniversary and carrying on their family tradition which has existed now for 68 years!
