Jason MacDonald’s passion for music plays out with energy, wonderful storytelling and a warm personality that connects immediately with his audience. Jason’s debut CD, “Leave My Mark” was released in 2002 followed by “The Day” in 2005. Both were recorded at the Lakewind Sound Studio and led to industry award nominations and performances at Nova Scotia Music Week, the East Coast Music Awards and the Canadian Country Music Awards. Jason has been recognized for his songwriting by receiving Top Honours in the Indie International Songwriters Contest plus an Independent Singer-Songwriter Association nomination in 2009.

In 2007, Jason expanded his fan base with his first U.S. tour into New England that led to performances at the Milwaukee Irish Festival in 2009. In 2011, he showcases at ECMA, went on his fourth US tour, and released a new recording, the six song EP "On The Way". His third full length CD, "Got A Ways to Go" was released this summer.

Jason has shared the stage with performers such as Michelle Wright, John MacDermott, The Ennis Sisters, Lennie Gallant, Gordie Sampson, Dave Gunning, J.P. Cormier, Mary Jane Lamond, Ron Hynes, Matt Anderson, and Jimmy Rankin to name a few.

Joining Jason for Celtic Colours this year will be Wally MacAulay on guitar and vocals, Anita MacDonald on fiddle, and Adam Young on piano.
