Jason Roach

Cape Breton

Jason was born and raised in Cheticamp, Cape Breton. He began playing the keys at the age of five and was introduced to the Celtic style at thirteen. He has a Bachelor of Music degree from St. Francis Xavier University and has been performing since 1997.

Jason has opened for Jimmy Rankin, performed with Dominique Dupuis at festivals in Italy and France, and Chrissy Crowley in Scotland and Vancouver and toured Canada and the US with Stepcrew. He is featured on Maybelle Chisholm's album "Pure Celtic Hearts" (2001) and Dawn and Margie Beaton's 2008 album "A Taste Of Gaelic". Jason released his own album in 2007 with support from the Festival Volunteer Drive'er Association.

In addition to playing with fiddler Chrissy Crowley during the festival, Jason is a member of Sprag Session along with Colin Grant, Darren McMullen, Donnie Calabrese and Colin Clarke.
