Posted in Uncategorized
The Celtic Colours International Festival Staff and Board are saddened by the loss of Cape Breton’s First Lady of Song, Rita MacNeil. We extend our condolences to her family, friends and many fans.

Musical friends and colleagues of Rita MacNeil are coming together for a celebration of her life on Monday, May 6th at Center 200 in Sydney. It is an opportunity for the entire community of her friends and fans to remember her, to celebrate her impact, and to say goodbye. The evening will be called “Home I’ll Be: Remembering Rita”. It will start at 7:30 PM. A nominal ticket price of $10 will allow everyone to be there and all proceeds will go toward a scholarship in her name for the newly-announced Music degree program (BACS in Music) at Cape Breton University. Click for full details.
