UPDATED DATES – due to the freezing rain storm of March 31 and April 1 we have postponed the two symposium sessions from April 1st and 2nd to April 8th and 10th. All below information has been updated to reflect the new dates.
Celtic Colours is excited to announce we will be hosting a two-day symposium to examine the cultural opportunities available to youth on Cape Breton Island.
Two separate sessions will be held Tuesday, April 8 and Thursday, April 10, at the New Dawn Centre for Social Innovation (in the former Holy Angels convent chapel) 37 Nepean Street, Sydney.
Youth Town Hall
From 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, April 8th, we invite any Junior High, High School, University and College students and anyone else from the “under-30″ crowd to our Youth Town Hall. Come and share your thoughts about Cultural Opportunities for Youth in Cape Breton. We want your opinions, your feedback, and your ideas! No registration required for the Youth Town Hall.
Focus Group for Organizations and Educators
On Thursday, April 10th, from 9:30 am – 4:30 pm, our Focus Group for Organizations and Educators will welcome teachers, representatives from cultural organizations who administer youth programs, and representatives from youth groups and service organizations. This is an opportunity for all to share what work they are doing, or what they would like to be doing, and will allow us all to network, build relationships, identify any opportunities for collaboration, and simply gain a better understanding of one another’s work so we can all plan more effectively.
Lunch will be provided to focus group participants. Registration for this focus group is required by March 19th.
