We’re back with Episode #7 of our new video podcast Suas E! Celebrating Cape Breton Island’s living Celtic culture.
This week one of Cape Breton’s most accomplished young fiddlers, pianists and step dancers, Kimberley Fraser, joins us to discuss her current performing and teaching endeavors, her formative years as a traditional artist, and the impact of musical institutions Berklee College of Music and Up Home Tonight on her career.
We’ll conclude the episode with a charming vignette featuring Willie Francis Fraser who tells us about the step dancing teacher who would visit him in his childhood dreams.
Many thanks are due to our project partners at Cape Breton University’s Centre for Cape Breton Studies and Nova Scotia’s Department of Communities Culture and Heritage, and Destination Cape Breton Association.
