Last night’s concert was fantastic. It was a high quality feed, with an intimate feel. I, for one, am very grateful to you for making this a possibility. This is a wonderful opportunity to get the Gaelic Spirit “out there” to expand the audience base, and I don’t know very many people who aren’t captured by this Spirit once they are exposed to it, especially through a Cape Breton filter. My hats off to all the people that made this transmission possible. I truly miss my many friends down there, and shall be watching every night from my ring side seat.

This is a wonderful festival and I love the streaming of concerts. But, if it is Celtic Colours, why are not more Celtic cultures represented? I would love to hear a Cornish bard.

  11. John Clifford October 7, 2012 at 8:04 pm #

Many thanks for these live broadcasts. Thanks especially to my brother Frank Clifford’s production crew, including Cathy, Natalie, Bud, Mark & Beth.

I have been waiting 15 years (!!) for CORNISH performers — musicians, singers, storytellers, dancers — to appear on stage at Celtic Colours and am disappointed yet again. Why have the Cornish Celts been ignored all this time? It isn’t for lack of talent! The Cornish are a people of long Celtic history with an old Celtic language of their own, and with great numbers of descendants all over the world, including U.S. and Canada. Can anyone explain what would appear to be a strange slighting of a Celtic nation? — Oll an gwella, Boyd R.

I have been watching the “live stream” nightly and enjoy every minute of it. Great effort by the people of Cape Breton in every aspect of the festival 2012. Tonight 10/8, I watched and when the Beaton Sisters Band played and the two fiddle players stood up and danced while continuing to play their fiddles… well that’s just awesome! From CT, USA Thank you and have fun everyone!

    No streaming for Ipad folks……bummer

    • Devon Strang October 9, 2012 at 6:10 pm #

Sorry Bill. We’d love to be able to offer the streams in a format compatible with mobile devices but this is a major initiative and we’re going to need to walk for a bit before we can run. Hope you are able to catch some if the shows on a PC or Mac.

  16. Kelt October 10, 2012 at 7:13 pm #

Great dance show Tuesday! Looking forward to as many shows as I can catch.

  17. Don MacEachern October 10, 2012 at 10:28 pm #

These shows are terrific for a senior who does not get out anymore. It is making me feel young again and the talent both imported and local is outstanding.Thank you so much for doing it.

Thanks so very much for providing the live stream…I’ve gotten to enjoy five (!) evening concerts so far…my very first viewing of the Celtic Colors concerts….not quite as good as being there but the next best thing! I really like how the camera persons focus on the foot work as well as the instrument playing. Many thanks to organizers, talent and crew!!

If ever I missed a live performance tonight 10/10 was THE ONE. Yes, I watched it streamed, but I should have been there! Cape Breton people… Celtic Colours 2012… very nicely done!

    Smashing performance! Bravo!

“Celtic Colours”…without a doubt, one of the worlds’ premiere traditional music festivals. Nowhere else will you find an experience like this.

    • Devon Strang October 11, 2012 at 3:11 pm #

Thanks for the kind words James. Did you make it to the festival this year or are you enjoying from home?

  21. Robin Saunders October 11, 2012 at 5:53 pm #

I strongly feel that there should be a new Memorial Garden, located somewhere in the Heart of Cape Breton (tough decision…it’s ALL heart) where plaques and or trees could be placed for all the departed, and ceremonies held each time another cultural treasure leaves us. At the centre could be a large stone fiddle sun dial, with an eternal flame coming from the neck of the fiddle. I am extremely serious about this. What do you think?

  22. Dave Clark October 11, 2012 at 10:18 pm #

We first came 6 years ago, and couldn’t be there this year, but the Live Streaming was the next best thing!! Just makes us want to come back again. Dave Clark, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

  23. Mary Ellen October 11, 2012 at 10:19 pm #

Thanks for this opportunity to see & hear some wonderful music & dancing. I’ve totally enjoyed “being there”- wow! This week is a real treasure; keep up the tradition & the magic.

  25. Danny MacDonald October 12, 2012 at 4:05 pm #

The best live stream I’ve watched to date. Congratulations to Live OnLine Canada for their exceptional filming and technical expertise. It’s the best seat in the house.

  26. Robin Saunders October 12, 2012 at 9:33 pm #

The camera work and audio have been outstanding. Bravo!

  27. JIM October 13, 2012 at 9:18 am #

Camera work and audio have been terrible. The close up shots created camera shake and what happened last night when Mary Jane Lamond & Wendy MacIsaac were on?

    • Devon Strang October 13, 2012 at 11:26 am #

Sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy last night’s stream Jim. I’ll follow up on the points you have raised. Thanks for the feedback.

Interesting to hear the story about Paddy’s flute, Cady Coleman and the Endeavor – while the Endeavor is right now creeping through the streets of Los Angeles on its way to its final resting place on display at the California Science Center.

  31. Callista Burridge October 13, 2012 at 11:00 pm #

The quality of the live stream for the last two concert nights was GREATLY improved over the early week concerts…THANKS so much…I enjoyed evrey tune, song, dance!!!

Wonderful – I watched every show except – unfortunately – the first.- no complaints at all. (But yes, it would be harder for folk in the “wrong” time zones!
