A Touch of the Irish

There’s no mistaking the Irish in Open the Door for Three. Pat Broaders sings in the Dublin song tradition with Kieran O’Hare on uilleann pipes, concert flute and tin whistle and Liz Knowles on fiddle. It will be fun to see Liz and Kieran reunite with J.P. as the three have performed on numerous J.P. CDs over the years. There’ll be a touch of the Irish in more than the tunes once Liz Doherty, Gino Lupari and Fintan Vallely get a session going on fiddle, bodhran and flute. Liz of course is a devoted friend of the Festival, as is Irish harp player Laoise Kelly. Evans & Doherty have been entertaining East Coast music audiences of every description for 30 years. And what can we say about J.P. Cormier? Whether he’s playing solo or with any of the present company, he’ll knock your socks off, as he always does.
