Còmhla Cruinn: Gathered Together
|Date||Saturday October 10th 2:00 PM|
|Venue||Christmas Island Fire Hall, Christmas Island|
|Tickets||$20 General Admission|
It's wonderful when people from far and wide can gather together on Cape Breton Island for songs and tunes; especially when such a time takes place in beautiful Christmas Island, a gathering place for many generations of Gaels. Popular Inverness County dance players Kinnon and Betty Lou Beaton, and lovely Mabou Gaelic singer Joanne MacIntyre welcome Scottish harp player and singer Rachel Newton. She has gathered together one of Scotland’s most expressive fiddle players, Lauren MacColl, and the richly subtle but sturdy percussionist Mattie Foulds for her Trio. Mattie, of course, is from Cape Breton and no stranger to the Christmas Island area while Lauren, from the Black Isle, was immersed in the rich culture of the Scottish Highlands from a young age, learning her traditional music through the Feisean movement in Ross-Shire. Join in the gathering and experience the culture. Suas e!
