Thursday October 16th
United Protestant Church of Sydney River, Sydney River – 7:30 PM, Tickets: $30/25, Reserved Seating
To have “panache” means you have a distinctive and flamboyant style. Andrea Beaton and her new all-girl quartet of very unique fiddlers chose their band name appropriately. With roots in Cape Breton, Quebecois, Old Time and Franco-American fiddle traditions, these four are fiery and fierce. And then there’s Dàimh. Piper Angus MacKenzie from Mabou lives in Scotland now and his band includes members from Ireland, Scotland and the US with fiddles, pipes, whistles, flute, guitar and some great Gaelic singing. It will be super to have these two ex-pats home with their new musical friends. The songs are sure to flow freely with two singers from Richmond County. Cyril MacPhee has delighted this audience in the past and is back along with a young songwriter, Décota McNamara, whose guitar chops will make your eyes pop. Welcome home all!
