Since its introduction 20 years ago at the Centre Bras d’Or Festival of the Arts, the Guitar Summit has become a staple of the Celtic Colours lineup. It’s one of the most anticipated concerts in a festival that boasts so many must-see events. Tonight we have reunited three of the four original participants—J.P. Cormier, Dave MacIsaac and Scott Macmillan. To say these three guitarists need no introduction sounds like the emcee is trying to get out of doing a bit of work, but it’s true. If you know even a little about Cape Breton’s traditional music you will recognize these names. And if you don’t, this is your chance to get caught up. Joining them onstage will be Stuart Cameron, a versatile and highly sought-after guitar player who graced the Summit in 1998 with his father, John Allan Cameron. Stuart has played with everybody in Canadian music, but his heart is in Cape Breton. Don’t miss this one.
