In Good Hands

Saturday October 18th

St. Mary's Parish Hall, Mabou – 2:00 PM, Tickets: $25, General Admission

Féis Mhàbu has been creating opportunities for young traditional players and singers for many years. Today their work becomes truly international as they showcase a project that brings together young players from Australia, Scotland and Cape Breton. The Mischa MacPherson Trio grew up with Fèis Rois in Scotland and joined the project in Australia. Maxim Cormier and Rachel Davis travelled to the National Celtic Festival in Melbourne to join the project. Fèis Rois welcomed Maxim over the summer for their Ceilidh Trail program. The group is back together along with some young local players added to the mix. To top off the afternoon, Scotland’s Dàimh, which includes Mabou native Angus MacKenzie, will bring it all full circle. It was Angus’ mother who founded Féis Mhàbu back in the 1990’s. It is clear that the culture is in very good hands.
