Cape Breton and Prince Edward Island share a lot in common as neighbouring islands including strong musical traditions and a pride in our cultural roots. Acadian music, song and dance is at its best tonight with PEI’s Vishtèn, a group that includes a member from the nearby Magdalen Islands. Cape Breton’s traditional tunes take on a new twist as Monica MacNeil performs them on saxophone, accompanied by her husband Sheumas. And virtuoso fiddler Dwayne Côté will put the icing on the cake. We predict a formidable finale.
