Kelly’s Mountain is sacred ground to Cape Breton’s Mi’kmaq people. It has inspired popular songs and stood witness to many a celebration over the years. Tonight the Victoria County landmark will once again preside over a musical celebration named in its honour as award-winning singer-songwriter Terry Kelly from Newfoundland takes the stage. Terry will join the Beatons of Mabou—Kinnon, Betty Lou and Andrea—in welcoming back the amazing trio Väsen from Sweden. And no Cape Breton ceilidh would be complete without dancing. Not to worry, Scottish group Dannsa has it covered in fine style with fiddle, pipes, piano and four dancers, including Cape Breton’s Mac Morin, among the six person group. Could this be Kelly’s dream come true or will it be the concert that finally wakes Kelly from a centuries-long slumber?
