Kelly won’t want to wake from his dream tonight with the likes of this going on in Boularderie, just down the road from his famous mountain. Matthew Byrne is over from Newfoundland with some of his buddies. The Dardanelles singer, song finder and bouzouki player is joined by bandmate Aaron Collis on accordion and Billy Sutton on guitar. Matthew’s repertoire of songs learned, passed down, and found is fitting for Max MacDonald, who’ll be on hand to share some of the songs he’s learned firsthand over the years. A founding member of the Rise and Follies of Cape Breton Island and the Cape Breton Summertime Revue, the singer for Cape Breton’s legendary Buddy and the Boys is sure to have some classics up his sleeve to delight the crowd. Winnie Chafe and her daughter Pat Chafe will complete the night with some traditional Cape Breton tunes and some compositions by Pat for violin and piano. It’s not a dream, Kelly. It’s a dream come true!
