Louisbourg Crossroads

Wednesday October 15th

Louisbourg Playhouse , Louisbourg – 7:30 PM, Tickets: $35/30/25, Reserved Seating

The Playhouse began as a movie set and evolved into an intimate theatre where you can almost reach out and touch the performers. Scottish guitarist Tony McManus appreciates the theatre as a result of his many visits to Celtic Colours. Known as the leading guitarist in Celtic music, he is enjoying a new collaboration with singer-songwriter Laura Smith. Her soulful songs and rich vocals are complimented by Tony’s sensitive arrangements. Picking up the pace will be We Banjo 3 from Ireland. With banjos, fiddles, guitars, mandolin, vocals and percussion, these two sets of brothers have enough energy and virtuosity to fill the room to the rafters! Rounding out the evening are three legendary Cape Breton treasures. Carl MacKenzie, Doug MacPhee and Dave MacIsaac have been playing Cape Breton music for more years than they wish to admit. Together again tonight, they complete this close encounter at the crossroads.
