Sunday October 12th
Colaisde Na Gàidhlig/Gaelic College, St. Ann's – 2:00 PM, Tickets: $30/25, Reserved Seating
A Celtic Colours tradition, the Piper’s Ceilidh is bound to be a barn-burner this year. Scotland and Cape Breton face off as the MacDonald brothers from Scotland and the MacKenzie brothers from Mabou are flanked by Scottish piper and pipe maker Fin Moore and Cape Breton piper Kevin Dugas. Can you imagine the households these boys grew up in, all practicing chanter and later the bagpipes? That’s full house of music. And it’s usually those homes with young musicians that become a gathering place for neighbours later in life, with great tunes and hospitality being par for the course. This afternoon will feel just like being invited into the kitchen to listen to our neighbours play some tunes. Hold onto your hats!
Nearby meal: Thanksgiving Dinner, The Gaelic College
