Putting On Airs (SOLD OUT)

Monday October 13th

St. Matthew-Wesley United Church, North Sydney – 7:30 PM, Tickets: $30, General Admission

The gorgeous St. Matthew-Wesley United Church in North Sydney is the perfect setting for fiddles, accordion music and song from Scotland and Cape Breton. Old friends Phil Cunningham from Scotland and Shetland fiddler Aly Bain will meet up with old friends Winnie Chafe, Cape Breton’s first lady of the violin, and her piano-playing daughter Patricia for a lovely evening of airs. They will be joined by the ever-delightful Wrigley Sisters from Orkney, whose pleasure of playing together is evident in their easy-going, playful stage presence. Singer Donnie Campbell has been a stalwart supporter of Cape Breton’s music for decades as a performer and host of local radio show Celtic Serenade. Hopefully Winnie and the Wrigleys can help Phil keep his humour on the straight and narrow and in line with the surroundings.
