Reunited in l’Acadie

Tuesday October 14th

Place des arts Père Anselme-Chiasson, Cheticamp – 7:30 PM, Tickets: $30/25, Reserved Seating

The Acadian culture has a connected history of displaced cousins. Tonight’s concert is a reunion of cultural cousins from Louisiana, Quebec, and here in Cape Breton. Spearheading the emerging generation of Cajun and Creole musicians, fiddler, vocalist, accordion player and songwriter Cedric Watson is joined in Les Amis Creole by fiddle and accordion player Ed Poullard and Bijou Creole bandmate Desiree Champagne on rubboard. With fiddle, accordion, harmonica, guitar, bouzouki and a number of other instruments, the three virtuosos in De Temps Antan blend boundless energy with the unmistakable joie de vivre found in traditional music from Quebec. Andrea Beaton has spent many Saturday afternoons playing at the Doryman Tavern in Cheticamp. Andrea brings her new band, Panache Quartet home for a visit while Acadian singer Nicole LeBlanc welcomes all to her hometown with a selection of original and traditional music.
