Sunday October 12th
Fortress of Louisbourg Chapel, Louisbourg – 6:00 PM, Tickets: $100, Reserved Seating
Forget the hustle and bustle of the modern world and step back into the 18th century for one enchanted evening. The Fortress of Louisbourg serves up a period dinner and a candlelight concert of songs and tunes from Scotland to Acadian Cape Breton. With roots in a tiny crofting township on the Isle of Skye, the Campbells of Greepe are one of the great dynasties of Gaelic song. Generations of pipers and singers who loved to dance, these Campbells will be right at home in this stone church setting. Celebrated singer-songwriter Ronald Bourgeois will represent the historic setting of this unique concert with a selection of heartfelt songs written for his Acadian homeland of Cheticamp. The fiddle-guitar duo of up and comers Douglas Cameron and Maxim Cormier complete this lineup with a glimpse of the future of this traditional music.
