Friday October 12th
L'Ardoise Community Centre, L'Ardoise – 7:30 PM, Tickets: $30/25, Reserved Seating
The band started in the late '70s, recorded three albums in the '90s and went their separate ways in ’99, but Brakin’ Tradition’s popularity remained strong throughout Cape Breton. Tonight they are reuniting in Richmond County where the roots of their music were formed. The band’s mainly original songs became Cape Breton standards. Their tight vocal harmonies and unique instrumentation paved new ground and did break with tradition. Tonight we’ll re-live those days, but also see how the music has been passed along to a new generation.
