String Fever (SOLD OUT)

Friday October 17th

St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Sydney Mines – 7:30 PM, Tickets: $30, General Admission

Prepare for a night of soulful songs and spectacular strings in the beautiful St. Andrew’s Church. Barra brothers Kyle and Sheumas MacNeil grew up in Sydney Mines and along with their musical pal J.P. Cormier, they’ll play host for guests from British Columbia, Ontario and the mainland. In fact they will be welcoming back a much-loved songstress from Cape Breton’s past. Laura Smith lived on the North Shore in the 1970’s and has not been back in many years. She’s been touring with festival favourite, guitar whiz Tony McManus and they’ll share their new combo. The Fretless, a quartet from Canada's west coast, has been making a splash and winning folk awards for their amazing string arrangements. Just imagine when J.P. and Tony get together with all those fiddle players. Beware of string fever!
