Friday October 17th
Big Pond Community Fire Hall, Big Pond – 7:30 PM, Tickets: $30/25, Reserved Seating
There’s nothing quite so special as knowing “I was there when…”. Tonight in Big Pond several of the finest young composers and players from Scotland and Cape Breton will gather to swap tunes and make history. Adam Sutherland made his mark with Session A9 and Treacherous Orchestra, but the popularity of his compositions would suggest he should be a much older person. Fiddle players everywhere play his “The Road to Errogie”. Now some of our finest young players get a chance to share their work. Troy, Kimberley, Rachel, Darren and Colin have all taken the tradition to the next level….making new tunes of their own. They’ll all get together to create some arrangements with Adam and his piano pal Hamish Napier. Be there to see the results of the raw talent and then top it off with Sprag Session, living proof that there’s power, promise and tunes for the future.
