Frequently called on to play the role of musical director and band-leader for events like the East Coast Music Awards, the Cape Breton Summertime Revue and Howie’s Celtic Brew, Allie has won East Coast Music Awards for co-producing Dave Gunning’s A Tribute to John Allan Cameron and the prestigious Musician’s Achievement Award. Always in demand for studio and touring work, Allie released his second CD, Full Circle, in 2013, and continues to work on a book of Cape Breton fiddle tunes.

DarrenMcMullenDarren McMullen

Darren McMullen is a highly sought after multi-instrumentalist based out of Halifax, Nova Scotia. His list of instruments includes mandolin, bouzouki, tenor banjo, whistles, guitar and bass. He has released three solo albums and been busy touring and performing with a wide range of bands including the Rankins, J.P. Cormier, Dave Gunning, Matt Andersen, Bruce Guthro, Matt Minglewood, David Francey, Gillian Boucher, Troy MacGillivray, Andrea Beaton, Rachel Davis, Anna Ludlow, and Chrissy Crowley. Darren also plays in Sprag Session with Colin Grant, Jason Roach, Donnie Calabrese and Colin Clarke, and fronts his own Darren McMullen Band.

Multi-instrumentalist and singer Emily Dingwall is often sought out for her smooth harmonies, soulful bass, and chameleon-like ability to blend into any musical situation. A self-taught bass player and guitarist, Emily has worked tirelessly to hone her craft. Emily has spent time in Nashville working with Gordie Sampson and is in demand in the studio at home, recording with J.P. Cormier, Aaron C. Lewis, Steven MacDougall, Laurel Martell and many others. Since 2013, she toured Canada with J.P. Cormier. She also plays regularly with popular Cape Breton band The Privateers and in the duo Rosa with her sister Jen.

MardeenMardeen

Mardeen is a rock band from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Writing music together since their early teen years, they’ve always focused on melody and playing loud. After releasing their second full length, Miss You Forever in 2013, Mardeen set out to try something different. Working with producer Joel Plaskett, the band recorded an EP with a heavy Cape Breton influence. The EP, along with another EP of forgotten recordings, will be released in 2014. (74)

SpragSessionSprag Session

TheStanfieldsThe Stanfields

It started in 2008 when The Stanfields took the East Coast entirely by storm with a single entitled “The Dirtiest Drunk (in the History of Liquor)” and a live show best described as intense celebration. The award-winning, five-piece band based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, has released 3 albums now. The most recent, For King and Country, is an acoustic project that was released in October 2013 in Canada and Germany.
