Gaelic College – 51779 Cabot Trail Road, St. Ann'sHosted by: Cape Breton Harp Circle
Scotland’s Catriona McKay returns with her unique style and brilliance to share a tune or two, and instruct this hands-on workshop for harp players. While all skill levels are welcomed, the workshop is best suited for intermediate or advanced players.
Catriona is widely recognized for her dynamic musicianship and innovative style. A musician and composer of integrity and depth, she has a daring rhythmic style developed through her playing with fiddle genius Chris Stout, in Shetland band Fiddlers' Bid, and improvising duo Strange Rainbow. Her exceptional inventiveness and outstanding rhythm harp playing, combined with effortless virtuoso technical ability, keep her at the forefront of harp playing in the twenty-first century. Imagine fiddle, pipes and an orchestra in eight fingers, and you’ll begin to understand what she can do with her hands and harp.
