Celtic-Polish Connections: a Polish Highland Luncheon

Cape Breton has one of Canada’s oldest Polish communities, a community that preserves age-
old traditions from various regions, including the distinctive Goralski (highland) culture of the
Tatry Mountains. The Pogoria Polish Folk Ensemble, the only group of its kind in Cape Breton, will serve a traditional lunch, demonstrate highland dances and songs, and explain Celtic-Polish cultural connections and influences in Cape Breton and overseas.
